OKNAL - Roller shutters

External blinds (roller blinds) are a practical system that protects us in three ways: it provides excellent thermal insulation, protects privacy and peace, and also provides an effective anti-burglary barrier.

Aluprof roller shutters are made of selected materials that guarantee their highest quality. Roller shutters, both in the concealed, adaptive and top-mounted systems, are designed to improve the energy balance of the building. In winter, they significantly reduce heating costs, while in summer, when the sun is shining and the outside temperature is high, they provide a pleasant coolness and twilight that gives rest to tired eyes.

Additionally, thanks to a well-thought-out structure and appropriately selected raw materials, the blinds provide effective protection against uninvited guests. They make the home a place where we feel at ease, safe, and which we gladly return to after the hardships of the day, knowing that we can always find peace and shelter in it.

The most important advantage, however, is that Aluprof is the first Polish system supplier to offer a system of anti-burglary roller shutters in the RC3 class. This was confirmed by tests carried out in an accredited research laboratory, in accordance with the PN-EN 1627: 2011 standard. Thanks to the use of this roller shutter system, we can be sure that our house is safe in our absence, especially during holidays, holidays or winter holidays.

Adaptive blinds

SKO and SKO-P systems

SKO and SKO-P systems are solutions included in the family of adaptive roller shutters dedicated mainly to the existing construction industry. Due to the fact that these products are not an integral part of the window and do not require special preparation for installation, they can be installed at any time. The SKO-P system box is made of high-quality aluminum sheet covered with a special PU / PA coating, ensuring its durability and resistance to abrasion and weather conditions. In turn, the box in the SKO system is made of extruded aluminum, which guarantees its greater rigidity and stability. The well-thought-out design of these solutions and their oval shape make them very often chosen in the case of wall installation, being an excellent decorative element of the facade.

As in the case of SK and SKP systems, the shutter armor can be filled with foam, plastic and extruded profiles. The advantage of these products is the possibility of using the Moskito system that works independently of the roller shutter, which additionally protects the interior of the building against insects, while maintaining access to light and air.

Flush-mounted blinds

SP and SP-E systems

Flush-mounted systems are intended primarily for use in newly erected buildings. However, after making the necessary changes to the lintel, these products can also be installed in existing buildings. An important issue is to plan the use of this type of solutions and the method of their installation at the stage of building design, which allows for more effective use of the functional values of this type of systems. Flush-mounted roller shutters provide excellent thermal insulation, because they do not interfere with the structure of the window, door and lintel, thus not affecting the energy balance of the building. What’s more, these products fit perfectly into the facade, being an integral part of it.

The front of the roller shutter box is also a base for any finishing material (e.g. plaster or clinker), thanks to which the box becomes an imperceptible element of the building facade. The SP and SP-E systems by Aluprof have been designed to ensure, above all, protection against heat loss. This was especially appreciated by the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt (PHI), which issued a recommendation for the use of both solutions for boxes with a size of 165 mm and smaller in passive buildings. The necessary condition is, first of all, correct installation in a previously insulated lintel in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. In addition, the window joinery should meet the appropriate parameters, including The window’s heat transfer coefficient Uw is lower than 0.80 W / (m²K), while the Ug coefficient of the glass does not exceed 0.70 W / (m²K).

An additional advantage of flush-mounted roller shutters is the possibility of using an independently operating mosquito net, which also allows protection against insects. As in the case of adaptation systems, the curtain of the flush-mounted roller shutter can be filled with foam, plastic and extruded profiles.

Top mounted shutters

SKT Opoterm system

The top-mounted roller shutter system is a proposition of Aluprof addressed to people who expect a functional solution. SKT OPOTERM roller shutters can be used both in newly erected buildings, as well as during the modernization of existing buildings during the replacement of window frames. The top-mounted roller shutter system is characterized by a direct mounting of the roller shutter box on the window frame by means of an appropriate adaptive profile. These profiles work with the majority of window or door frame profiles of wooden, aluminum and PVC joinery. These boxes are made of very good quality PVC elements and their interior has been additionally insulated, thus increasing the thermal insulation. The SKT Opoterm system of top-mounted roller shutters by Aluprof has received a certificate from the renowned IFT Rosenheim research center in the field of thermal transmittance. The tests were carried out for the boxes with the use of EPS insulation material (Neopor) based on the currently applicable standards and calculation methods. Very good parameters were obtained, eg the SKT 230/170 box with an integrated mosquito net obtained the Usb = 0.73 W / (m2K) coefficient, which is important while maintaining a high winding capacity of the system, which allows for shading larger glazing. The system is also available in a variant with narrow guides made of extruded aluminum for maxi and mini profiles, which allow additional insulation of the frame, which minimizes heat loss.

The SKT Opoterm top mounted roller shutter system, at the customer’s request, can be equipped with a mosquito net built in the roller shutter box (MKT). The integrated system ensures independent operation of the roller shutter and anti-insect net. Additionally, the Opoterm Nova variant is available, where the MKT integrated mosquito net system was placed under the shutter armor, which allowed it to be brought closer to the window frame. The assembly of this solution is very simple. The armor sliders are adapters for installing the mosquito net with a snap. Importantly, a properly wound mosquito net can be inserted into the box at any time – during production or on a box already mounted on the frame. Changing the position of the MKT does not change the winding parameters of the system.

For investors who want to treat the roller shutter as a decorative element, it is possible to not build the box and adjust the visible elements to the color of the window frame, thanks to the box structure made of extruded aluminum.

In the case of buildings with very thin walls and with no possibility of development, it is possible to use the so-called rounded side profile. It is a very aesthetic solution that will surely match any interior. This solution is very common on the French market.

In addition, for the French market, where it is very common to use old jambs that are not dismantled during renovation, because they are the load-bearing element of the building structure. The box is cut in the shape of the letter “Z”, which allows it to be adapted to all versions of renovation frames available on the market, the size of the fin ranges from 25 mm to 110 mm. The OPOTERM RENO variant is available only for the version of the system without a mosquito net.

In the SKT OPOTERM system, it is possible to use profiles with polyurethane foam and PVC.

Though completely swamped, the boat was nearly unharmed. Swimming round it we picked up the floating oars, and lashing them across the gunwale, tumbled back to our places. There we sat up to our knees in the sea, the water covering every rib and plank, so that to our downward gazing eyes the suspended craft seemed.

Meanwhile the driving scud, rack, and mist, grew darker with the shadows of night; no sign of the ship could be seen. The rising sea forbade all attempts to bale out the boat. The oars were useless as propellers, performing now the office of life-preservers the real life from the wild one.

Wet, drenched through, and shivering cold, despairing of ship or boat, we lifted up our eyes as the dawn came on.

There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody’s expense but his own. However, nothing dispirits, and nothing seems worth while disputing. He bolts down all events, all creeds, and beliefs, and persuasions, all hard things visible and invisible, never mind how knobby; as an ostrich of potent digestion gobbles down bullets and gun flints. And as for small difficulties and worryings, prospects of sudden disaster, peril of life and limb; all these, and death itself, seem to him only sly, good-natured hits.

The Good Life
The Good Life

Surfing — 7:30 to 9:30. The Good Life. In Costa Rica, the present, the past, and the future lie in the same line. Surf or Die.

The deepest in the jungle, the more alive you feel — Nature is awesome.

Amazing country, poor politics. As many, Costa Rica is a country whose people saw their rights violated for a long time: the country is full of natural resources snatched by the corrupted politicians to hugely enrich themselves. Low education caps the story.

The Good People. I’m deeply interested in the shapes and the colours we use to design and fill the spaces that surrounds us.
